Municipal and county governments across the United States regularly or periodically survey citizens to assess satisfaction with a range of city services or to explore citizen response to planned changes in city services. Such surveys can be conducted on a constituency wide basis or focused on specific constituencies and may also be structured to track opinion over time. Such studies may also be focused on specific departments such as police, fire, water, refuse collection or airports.
